Couples Counselling is different from individual therapy - we would be working toward the good of the relationship, solution focussed, individual & couple strengths based, while keeping in mind your family of origin and other cultural aspects that might be of influence.
Be aware that I cannot fix any issues for you - I support you to communicate better and inspire you to help each other, enabling you to be on the same page and move forward together.
Usually we start with one session with both of you, followed by an individual session each to find out how you relate and how you would like to be within the relationship. And from there the work will start!
Relationship Therapy with me is focussed on your communication (what's been heard, what's been said, what's been meant), I do give homework (things to do in between sessions) and my relationship therapy program lasts between 9 and 12 sessions.
This is also suited for couples who are embarking on their life together, making sure that the communication foundations are solid. And for couples who are facing life changes like thinking about expanding the family, moving countries, retirement etc.
